Brazil has become a “state of exception” under FIFA. As the Brazilian Constitution is degraded by sidestepping legal due process, corruption has ensued. The freedom of independent media was heavily restricted at yesterday’s protests in Rio during the first match at Maracanã Stadium. Even worse, we’ve documented police firing live rounds of ammunition and concealing their identities, which is an egregious illegal act in the context of a civilian protest.
